Following is an excerpt from Bhagavad Gita – Chapter 16 – Verse no 11 – 24 by Vraja Bihari Das.
The main goal of life of the people of demoniac nature is to enjoy their Sense Gratification, and because of this for their whole life their death, they are filled with anxiety. If your goal is doing duties as a service towards Krsihna, that person experiences subtle and deep inner sense of peace, irrespective what problem they are facing, even if they are dealing in the worst case problem.
So if your goal is enjoyment, reward is anxiety
And if your goal is to serve, reward is peace.
So a demoniac person who are running after the desire of sense gratification, are actually bounded by the same shackles of desire and still running madly after it to achieve more. To achieve the same, this person worship lust and anger and accumulate wealth with all illegal means.
The demoniac person thinks: So much wealth do I have today, and I will gain more according to my schemes. So much is mine now, and it will increase in the future, more and more. He is my enemy, and I have killed him; and my other enemy will also be killed. I am the lord of everything, I am the enjoyer, I am perfect, powerful and happy. I am the richest man, surrounded by aristocratic relatives. There is none so powerful and happy as I am. I shall perform sacrifices, I shall give some charity, and thus I shall rejoice. In this way, such persons are deluded by ignorance.
They their basic focus on creating a personality for other rather than building a character within.
Thus perplexed by various anxieties and bound by a network of illusions, and thus one becomes strongly attached to sense enjoyment and and result is that they falls down into hell. These type of people are Self-complacent and always impudent, deluded by wealth and false prestige, they sometimes perform sacrifices in name only without following any rules or regulations, just as coverup for the misdeed they are performing to the world.
Therefore bewildered by false ego, strength, pride, lust and anger, theses kind people with demoniac quality becomes envious of the the Lord who is situated in their own body and in the bodies of others, and blasphemes against the real religion.
Those who are envious and mischievous, who are the lowest among men, are cast by Krishna into this ocean of material existence, into various demoniac species of life. As they are attaining repeated birth among the species of demoniac life, such persons can never approach Krishna. Gradually they sink down to the most abominable type of existence.
Krishna reveals the main driving forces for a demoniac person and they are – Lust, Anger and Greed. The man who has escaped these three gates of hell performs acts conducive to self-realization and thus gradually attains the supreme destination. Futher, it is found in Kalyuga, that both the divine and the demoniac nature is in the same person that includes you and me, and thus we are highly influenced by these 3 gates of hell. Now, in starts with ‘lust’, when lust is satisfied to a certain extent, then ‘greed’ get generated and when lust is not satisfied then ‘Anger’ get generated. But he who discards scriptural injunctions and acts according to his own whims attains neither perfection, nor happiness, nor the supreme destination.
One should understand what is duty and what is not duty by the regulations of the scriptures. Knowing such rules and regulations, one should act so that he may gradually be elevated. Now the only solutions to get out of the clutches of demoniac activities is chanting the holy name of the lord and getting the higher taste. Here, we are not talking about ritualistic chanting, but chanting the holy in such a way that we connect to Krishna.
Now, how do we know that demoniac activities are being curved and divinity is being generating in heart?
We can easily find that when we genuinely respecting other and we are conscious our own short coming… which is nothing but humility is being practiced, it would get generated.
Now we can see the people who are moving to success, determination works a lot, however, if you don’t have humility, determination makes one hard and when one receives success, a person without humility cannot stay ground and his success doesn’t stay for a long time.
