Lord Chaitanya’s pastimes – Part-33

Jagannath Mishra replied, “last night I had an extraordinary dream. I saw Nimai in saffron robes of a sannyasi and shaved head. His arms were raised, tears were flowing from his eyes, his hairs stood on end, as he loudly chanted the holy names of Krishna , hare Krishna hare Krishna Krishna Krishna hare hare hare rama hare rama rama rama hare hare.”

Jagannath Mishra continued, “Vishwambhar danced madly as if intoxicated with love of god. He was surrounded by advaita acharya and other vaishnavas and they all worshipped him. He was sitting on the beautiful serpent anantasesa. He extended his feet and all great demi-gods worshipped them and he placed his feet on their heads. I saw lord brahma sing glories of our son with his four mouths and shiva sing Nimai’s glories with his five mouths. And anantasesa was singing with his thousand mouths. Then I saw our son surrounded by millions of people and he danced and induced all of them to also chant and dance to Krishna’s holy names. His kirtan filled the entire universal creation with holy names and everybody was loudly chanting the holy names. And I further saw our son lead all of them to jagannath puri.”

Then, in an emotion choked voice, Jagannath Mishra said, “my dear Sachi devi, I fear our son will soon take sannyasa and leave home just like Vishwarupa did. If he does so, how will we survive?” Sachi mata reassured her husband and said, “Our son will not leave us. He is so happy with his studies; why will he ever leave home?”

A few days after, Jagannath Mishra, who was suffering from the imminent separation from his son, came down with a very high fever. It appeared he won’t survive. At that time, Sachi mata and other relatives came to Nimai, crying, seeking solace. Nimai replied, “My dear mother, in this material world, everything is temporary. Nobody- even brahma and shiva- can’t survive for ever. Even the great himalayan mountains exist only for some time, when seen from an eternal perspective. By the inconceivable arrangement of Krishna, we are brought together for some time and then quickly we are separated. This is the will of the lord, my dear mother; so please don’t lament. Therefore, my dear mother, we should not lament.”
