Within just a few days of his studies, Vishwambhar was presenting such forceful and logical arguments that no could refute or defeat him. Any difficult question that Gangadas pandit asked, which no one else could answer, Nimai would answer with perfect logical and shastric reference.
Nimai would sometimes establish a point and ask if anyone could refute it. When all others failed, they declared that this was a perfect postulate that Nimai had established. But then to everybody’s surprise, Nimai would himself smash his own ‘perfect’ argument to pieces. And then everybody was convinced that Nimai had refuted his own theory with such impeccable logic that it is now unbeatable. Just then, to the shock of his classmates and great joy of his teacher, Nimai would re-establish the original argument and declare that his own challenge- which seemed perfect until then- as spurious and shallow. Gangadas pandit’s heart swelled in pride to see his student’s talent and intelligence. All students were astonished at such a powerful display of scholastic abilities.
Between the classes all children would bathe and sport in the river Ganges. During Krishna’s pastimes in vrindavan, he enjoyed many water pastimes in the Yamuna River. Amongst the many pastimes in yamuna, Krishna would sport with his friends, bathe his cows, and have conjugal pastimes with gopis in yamuna. At that time mother Ganga also desired to serve the lord. She performed many austerities and prayers to also get a similar opportunity to serve the lord just like yamuna did. Therefore the lord appeared as gaura hari, lord sri chaitanya mahaprabhu, to perform the very same, identical pastimes with his associates. But this time, instead of doing these in the pasturing grounds of vrindavan and in yamuna, the lord chose nawadwip and river Ganges. Mother Ganga was extremely grateful to the lord for this special chance. She created beautiful waves and with this, she embraced the lord. She produced beautiful lotus flowers in her waters, as an offering of love to the lord.
One morning Jagannath Mishra suddenly got out of bed and began crying, “Krishna, Krishna, please don’t take my son away. Please keep Nimai home.”
Perturbed, Sachi mata asked her husband, “What happened? I have never seen you so anxious? Please calm down!”
